Sunday Scrambles – June 19

june 19

Happy Sunday, y’all! I hope everyone has had a good and relaxing weekend! It’s been a long and stressful week at work, and I am looking forward to my much-needed days off. It’s supposed to get into the 90s but I’m hoping that will change!

Life

It’s been a pretty mellow week, not too much as been going on. I’ve been trying to trek through Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and I’m about halfway through!

Two of Anthony’s friends from high school got married this weekend in our hometown. I was not able to go because of work, but Anthony went and he was so excited for them to get married! It was a small backyard wedding at the groom’s parents’ house on the lake, and while it definitely wasn’t a formal occasion, Anthony decided to wear a Batman shirt. That’s my boyfriend, ladies and gentlemen. This is why he asks me to pick out his clothes.

It was Anthony’s friend/future step brother’s birthday this week, so we went out to dinner with the family. I, of course, took some really adorable pictures.

I’ve been struggling a lot with money lately. That’s nothing new, as I’ve always been struggling with money. I signed up for a free trials for some organic food, but then ended up getting charged, twice, and landed my bank account in the negative, twice. I’ve been trying to pay my friend back from when she loaned me money months ago, and both times I tried to send her money, it wouldn’t go through because of these random charges. It’s just frustrating.

I don’t remember where I found this quote, but it hit me hard in the heart and I absolutely love it.

The Best Lake Towns

Who doesn’t love a good lake town? They’re always quiet and charming – perfect for a quick getaway! I’m definitely adding some of these to my travel list!

10 Ways to Take Care of Yourself in 10 Minutes

I recently stumbled across Breanne’s blog and I love it! This post has some great ideas for taking a minute for yourself, which is something that is so important, but always gets pushed to the side.

Reading is one of my favorite “me time” activities, especially when the dogs are nearby.

No Coffee [or Alcohol] for How Long?!

This is an insanely eye-opening read to how much your coffee and alcohol habits can affect your life. I could definitely go a long time without drinking alcohol (and certainly have), but I am a coffee fiend. Trust me when I say the world is a better place when I drink it. It also addresses something I never would have thought about when cutting out alcohol – it gives you less of a reason to gossip with friends.

If You Can’t Take the Sass, Get Out of the Kitchen

I basically need every single thing on this list. I dream about the day that I’ll be able to have my own place with my own kitchen that I can keep as clean as I want.

Sweet Potato Crust Pizza

As a girl with a boyfriend that LOVES pizza (seriously, it’s past obsessed), I’m getting desperate to find healthy alternatives for him, especially ones that I can enjoy too! This recipe is easy and looks delicious. I’m hoping to try it soon!

Hope you all have a great week!

What do you do to take care of yourself when you have a free minute?

Do you have any healthy pizza alternatives?

    1. It definitely makes you realize how alcohol and coffee can affect your life, in more ways than just your weight!

Thank you so much for the recipe! It does seem like a bit of work but the pizza looks really good 🙂
